- I recently performed a couple of upgrades to my PC and now my X1541
- cable does not work! Damn PC's!
-
- THe upgrades were a 486SX 33mhz to a 83 mhz Pentium Overdrive
- processor and a Double speed CD-Rom to a Quad Speed CD-rom with the
- addition of a CD-ROM Interface Card for the IDE connection.
-
- Based on the documentation I have been reading, I tend to think that
- the interface card may be screwing up something with the Sync of the
- Printer Port? Could this be? If that is the case, maybe I sould buy a
- Sound Blaster Sound card which has an IDE interface on it, or would
- the same results happen?
-
- Or, does a Pentium Overdrive Processor not work with the X1541 cable.
- I kinda find this hard to believe, but you never know. I have been
- using Star Commander which I thought automatically configures the
- timing for the PC. Do I need to slow the PC down? If so what is the
- best way.
-
- Any Help would be appreciated as I am sure my wife will not let me put
- the old parts back in the Computer! .
